What 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, and 1% mean
These numbers describe the amount of retinol relative to the product, but they do not tell you how much active remains after storage, how it is released, or how much you apply. They also do not tell you whether your skin will tolerate the product.
A lower percentage used consistently may produce a better real-world routine than a higher percentage that causes repeated irritation.
